Everton plotting move for European champion

The Everton fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Football Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking them with a move for a new striker.

According to a report from ESPN the Premier League side are considering whether or not to make a move for Sevilla front man, Fernando Llorente.

The Spanish striker was once one of Europe’s most feared strikers after an impressive eight season spell with Athletic Bilbao which led to a move to Italian giants Juventus.

The move to the Serie A club was not as successful as the 31-year-old would have liked and he found himself back in Spain with Sevilla last season.

It turned out to be a season where he would find himself in and out of the side and despite this he still managed to find the back of the net on eight occasions, earning a Europa League winners medal as the Spanish side won the competition for a third successive season.

Toffee’s manager Ronald Koeman is in need of options upfront as he has not been convinced that Arouna Kone and Oumar Niasse have what it takes to do the job for the club next season.

Everton fans, we want to hear from you! Would Llorente be a good edition to the side? Could he be a success in the Premier League? Let us know below…
