Everton reportedly have bid accepted for in-form Euro-based striker

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling more positive than most in this January window and things could get better – according to Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad.

That’s because they are reporting that Everton have had a bid accepted for forward Ishak Belfodil in what could be an inspired signing on Ronald Koeman’s behalf.

Belfodil has nine goals and four assists in all competitions this season for his club Standard Liege and, whilst that’s not at the very highest level, he has shown that he’s got a fair bit to offer.

Indeed, with Everton only having Romelu Lukaku as a reliable source of goals, signing Belfodil might not be a bad idea, even if he used just as a back up.

The Toffees want to get themselves back into Europe this season and our landlord believes it’s the right thing to do to strengthen now, with the fee reportedly at €10 million  (£8.7 million.)

That fee could prove a snip, according to our landlord, and so now it remains to be seen what transpires over the coming days.
