Everton should look to Harry Maguire and Michy Batshuayi

Everton will want to challenge for a European spot after investing heavily in the summer transfer window, as Marco Silva eyes success at Goodison Park.

The Toffees will be one of the teams to watch in the Premier League this season as they managed to strengthen in all the right areas during the summer transfer window. Indeed, Marco Silva managed to bring in the likes of Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, Richarlison, Bernard and Lucas Digne, who could all become stars in the English top-flight.

And, it looks as if the Merseyside club may be able to splash even more cash in the future, as according to Sky Sports, Alisher Usmanov would consider investing in Everton. The Russian billionaire has agreed to sell his stake in Arsenal to Stan Kroenke, with investment in the Toffees being a possibility.

One name that Everton should potentially look at as a real marquee signing would be Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

The 25-year-old was one of England’s heroes at the World Cup and is arguably one of the best central defenders in the Premier League. Indeed, Manchester United did have their eye on him earlier on in the summer, but the defender stayed at the King Power Stadium and could try and push through a potential move away in January.

Indeed, the Toffees are lacking quality at the back despite welcoming former Barcelona defender Yerry Mina to the club during the summer transfer window, so a move for Maguire would certainly make a big statement.

Also, the Merseyside club would send shock waves right the way through the Premier League by bringing Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi to Goodison Park.

The Belgian is currently out on loan at Spanish side Valencia and will remain there for the rest of the current campaign. But, upon return to his parent club Chelsea at the end of the season, the Toffees could launch a bid for him to finally secure a suitable replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Interestingly, the 24-year-old has already shown that he can score bags of goals in the Premier League, but he just wasn’t given a fair chance under Antonio Conte.
