The Everton fans inside the Transfer Tavern are hoping never to have to recollect the terrible performances their team have shown this season, despite again finishing in the top half of the Premier League.
In what has been a below par season to say the least, Everton have to be happy to somehow see their team place in the top half again.
Thanks to their awful start, it seemed that the Toffees could have even dropped to the Championship due to their inability to pick up results. That’s all changed since Big Sam has come in and although he’s done the job he was asked to do, the fans in the Transfer Tavern want him out as soon as possible.
Whether Allardyce will remain, or a new boss will come in, remains to be seen, but one player that the Toffees should be looking to bring in regardless is versatile Man City player Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is rated at £5.4 million by Transfer Markt.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season with Pep’s City side, featuring in 13 games in all competitions. Due to his versatility, Zinchenko has been a player Guardiola has called upon for many different roles both on the flanks and through the middle. He’s filled in at left wingback on numerous occasions this season, but with Benjamin Mendy likely to return this summer, he may not get as much luck in the role next season.
That’s not a knock on him, though, given that he has impressed with his tackling, pace and technique whenever he has played.
The youngster clearly has great ability and Everton, along with many other Premier League clubs, would be mad not to try and prize him away from the league winners, at least on a loan deal.
After all, Goodison Park desperately needs a lift after the shocker this season, with Zinchenko the perfect wonder-kid who could do just that. Not to mention, with Baines getting on, the young Ukranian could be a decent replacement.
