Everton have reportedly submitted a new bid for Gabriel Magalhaes as they work towards a summer deal.

According to Football Insider, the Blues are hoping to make the Lille defender their first signing of the upcoming transfer window. No fee has been agreed as of yet, however Everton are willing to fork out £30 million to seal the deal.

As Carlo Ancelotti looks toward his first transfer window with his new club, plenty of names have been swirling around. However, it seems as though the Italian is keen on bringing Magalhaes to Goodison Park this summer.

The 22-year-old has been an almost ever-present figure in the Lille squad this season, registering 34 appearances and bagging himself a goal in that time (via Transfermarkt). In Ligue 1, the Brazilian has contributed to 12 clean sheets, something Everton will definitely benefit from if he was to make the move to England.

Magalhaes would be a stunning addition to Everton's ranks this summer and would be in line with the young squad Ancelotti seems to be putting his faith in at the moment. Teamed up with Mason Holgate, who recent signed a new five year deal, the Brazilian could really flourish and transform the Blues' defence.

However, if the club do move for Magalhaes, that could spell the end for Michael Keane's Goodison career. Fans haven't been impressed with the Englishman as of late, and have slammed his defensive performances. Yerry Mina has notched more appearances than Keane this season and the addition of another centre-back could see him fall even further down the pecking order.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old has averaged the worst passing accuracy out of Everton's central defenders this season with 79.9%.

With fans not on his side and the potential addition of another young defender, Keane could be looking at the final curtain at Everton.
