Everton have begun making moves in the transfer market, with the big addition of Watford's Richarlison being their main man so far.

Despite negative pre-season results, Everton will be hopeful of enjoying a better Premier League campaign than their turbulent time under Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce. At one point relegation seemed a v very real threat but the Toffees amended that crisis (just) and finished in 8th position. Having had a bad campaign and still managing to finish 8th, that really shows the potential of the team off to Marco Silva, who is the new man hoping to progress with his new Everton team.

With rumours of signing Lucas Digne from Barcelona, Everton should have a back-up option prepared in fellow French left-back Jerome Roussillon, who is valued at £7.2 million on Transfermarkt.

The Montpellier defender managed 22 Ligue 1 appearances last season and within that time bagged three goals as well as providing three assists for his team-mates. Although predominantly a left-back, Roussillon can also play higher up the pitch as a left-midfielder due to his pace and physicality on the ball.

Everton are preparing for life after long-serving Leighton Baines who isn't getting any younger, the reason behind the interest in Lucas Digne. The Barcelona defender has been a name mentioned around Goodison Park for a while but with little progress happening, Jerome Roussillon could be a player they turn to instead to provide the quality in defence.

The Toffees were well beaten in their last pre-season game against Blackburn due to some quite shocking defensive displays and so the addition of a top left-back is more than necessary based on performances thus far.
