After Everton’s official Twitter account announced that the club will be ending their current partnership with gaming brand Sport Pesa at the end of the current season, many Toffees supporters have been buzzing over the news – with a majority of them taking this update as a signal that Megafon will become the new shirt sponsor.
Sport Pesa, which has been the club’s main sponsor since 2017, have agreed to end the partnership following the conclusion of this campaign – with the Toffees appointing a new ‘main partner‘ for the 2020/2021 season. Indeed, after the announcement, many Everton fans have taken this news as a hint that Russian mobile phone operator Megafon will become the new brand behind Carlo Ancelotti’s side due to its ties with billionaire and investor Alisher Usmanov.
The business bought Everton’s naming rights for the new stadium back in mid-January, worth a reported £30 million, with his ties to Farhad Moshiri strongly linking him to buying a stake in the club (The Independent).
Here’s how supporters concluded the ‘nailed on‘ theory down below.

MegaFon – £25m a season. And next get rid of Angry Birds and have USM on the sleeve for £15m a season.
