It’s been a strong summer for the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern thus far, with Ronald Koeman already making moves in the market ahead of next season.
With the signing of Davy Klaassen a few weeks ago, the Toffees in the Tavern have seen their attacking midfield options strengthened at long last, lighting the fires of excitement amongst some of our Merseyside locals.
So, following the arrival of the aforementioned Dutchman, reports from the Daily Mail have shed some light over the future of a Goodison Park outcast.
They claim that, while Barcelona have reportedly made a bid for Spanish U21 star Gerard Deulofeu, the winger is understood to have SNUBBED a return to the Camp Nou. The Blaugrana are said to have triggered the buy-back clause they installed in the deal to sell him to Everton back in 2015, though the 23-year-old doesn’t seem interested.
Apparently, he is worried about his chances of first-team football, with the player unlikely to oust the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar in the long run.
Still, the winger isn’t thought to figure in Koeman’s plans at Goodison Park and the likes of AC Milan and Juventus are said to retain an interest. Indeed, the La Masia graduate impressed on loan at the San Siro during the second half of last season.
