Everton would be mad not to try and sign £22.5m-rated Spanish goalscorer this summer

The Everton fans gathered around in the Transfer Tavern are confident that next season their beloved team can return to their best following a below-par season.

Everton’s summer spending spree of over £150 million did not go to plan but ultimately the failure to replace the outgoing Romelu Lukaku set the Toffees up to fail from the very start.

Therefore, although the improvements of striker Cenk Tosun have been great in recent appearances, Everton, our punters believe should turn their attentions to Spanish forward Rodrigo, who currently plays his football for Valencia.

With the Premier League being blessed with more and more money each year, Everton shouldn’t have concerns about the price it could cost them when it comes to potentially signing a top striker at the peak of his game.

Having enjoyed one of the best campaigns of his career with 19 goals, Rodrigo looks to have the capabilities to take the English league by storm and Everton should look at doing all they can to secure his services. Transfermarkt currently values the 25-year-old at £22.5 million but if he can continue his scintillating form in front of goal, our punters suspect that money will be paid back in no time.

Whether Rodrigo would be a partner for Tosun or a lone wolf, the Spaniard has been so good for an over-achieving Valencia side that either role would benefit Everton massively.

A big summer clear-out can be expected at Goodison Park seeing as the Toffees want to return to their former capabilities of battling for the European places. That can only be done with a strong team and the addition of Rodrigo alone could prove to be the difference between a season of despair or prosperity.
