The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting their beloved team to spend big again this summer but with the flashbacks of last summer’s antics fresh in mind, they know that this summer cannot afford to go wrong.
Having been reminded of their £150 million disasters for much of this season, it’s time that Everton made the right signings by bringing in players who will have an instant impact and hit the ground running. Although Sam Allardyce has solidified the team, fans are hoping desperately that Big Sam isn’t there to stay, as they’re already sick of the boring football he insists on Everton playing.
A youngster who could spark new energy around the club is Amadou Haidara, a youngster playing for RB Salzburg who is valued at £4.50 million on Transfermarkt. Already at 20-years-old, it seems that Haidara will be a player destined for the top after impressing massively for the Austrian side in his first campaign there.
Haidara has made 47 total appearances so far, helping his side to reach the Europa League semi-final. In the quarter-final game against Lazio, Haidara scored 1 of his 6 goals this season to help RB Salzburg cruise past the Italians.
The Mali international is very versatile and can play in either wing, as a defensive, attacking or normal central midfielder. At 20, that is a very desirable attribute to have, having the ability to shine in whatever position he may be asked to play.
With a distinct lack of excitement around Goodison Park, the arrival of a hot prospect who is already linked with some of Europe’s biggest teams maybe the kind of signing to reignite some optimism around Everton.
