Marco Silva could look to strengthen Everton’s attack during the January transfer window.

The Toffees have made a decent start to life under the Portuguese and have adapted well to his attacking philosophy. Record-signing Richarlison is flourishing under the former Sporting Lisbon manager, while Glyfi Sigurdsson is also coming into his own in the number ten role. Nevertheless, Everton could still use attacking reinforcements with striker Cenk Tosun struggling to find the back of the net consistently.

The January transfer window is now less than two months away, and Silva found great success during his first window in charge of the club. Alongside sporting director Marcel Brands, the Portuguese will identify targets who could complete his forward line, and one man who should be on their shortlist is Ajax sensation David Neres.

Valued at £22.5 million by Transfermarkt, the Brazil winger is emerging as one of the top prospects in the Eredivisie following a stunning breakthrough campaign last year. Neres arrived at the club in January 2017 and was slowly introduced to the first-team. Once he was settled into life in Holland, the goals started to flow freely.

Neres ended the campaign with an incredible 14 goals and 11 assists in the Eredivisie and has kicked off the new season with one goal and three assists in just seven starts. With blistering pace and expert dribbling ability, the Brazilian would slot seamlessly on the right wing at Goodison Park.

The 21-year-old would combine perfectly with Richarlison in attack and could help his countryman score even more goals, as he averaged 2.2 key passes per game last year. The youngster would also be a nightmare for Premier League defenders as he averaged an incredible 3.6 successful dribbles per game – more than any other Everton player (WhoScored).

The 21-year-old would be a considerable upgrade on Theo Walcott, and could give Everton the boost they need to qualify for Europe this season - and at the tender age of 21, the Toffees front line would be set for many years to come were a move for Neves to materialise.
