Everton’s best possible XI under Marco Silva

Everton’s best possible XI under Marco Silva

Everton have started the season strongly as they look like being a force to be reckoned with under Marco Silva at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are still yet to bring some of their summer signings into proceedings, despite enjoying an incredible start to the current campaign. Indeed, Marco Silva seems to have found a starting XI that can grind out performances, but there’re a number of first team players still waiting to make their debut’s.

So, it’s important that the Portuguese boss consistently fields a settled side, but he may need a lot of luck to do so as injuries can impact his match selection.

Therefore, in an ideal world where Everton have a fully fit squad with no injuries or suspensions to speak of, here’s an idea of what Silva’s strongest XI would look like…

We’ve gone with a 4-2-3-1 formation, as that is the formation that the Toffees have already enjoyed success from so far this season, with the wide men expressing themselves and the two central midfielders keeping things tight.

Everton struggled to ensure defensive solidity last season as their central defensive partnership kept on being chopped and changed. But, Yerry Mina and Kurt Zouma would be the ideal option for Marco Silva at the back as both men have experience in the Premier League and know how to slam the door shut on the opposition. Also, Lucas Digne would operate on the left-hand side as an established crosser of the ball, while the wonderful Seamus Coleman works tirelessly to get forwards and backwards down the right.

In midfield, the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye have already established themselves as regulars in the starting XI as a second line of defence that often comes to the rescue. The attacking three would consist of Richarlison, summer signing Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson. Both Brazilian’s have pace to burn and could contribute a large amount of goals this season, while the Icelandic international is often the source of all things brilliant.

Lastly, Cenk Tosun would lead the line for the Toffees despite struggling to find the back of the net in the current campaign, as he often links up play and can hold up the ball.
