‘Feel like crying’, ‘A true legend’ – Everton fans on Twitter send powerful message to one man

The resident Toffees propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are in fine spirits after their club recorded back to back victories for the first time in the Premier League this season.

After enduring a dismal opening to the campaign shrouded by speculation regarding the Everton hot-seat following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman back in October, the Everton supporters believe they have turned a corner towards recovery. Everton’s new manager made his took his seat in the home dug-out at Goodison Park for the first time on Saturday afternoon, and he will have been pleased to see his side record a 2-0 victory over David Wagner’s Huddersfield.

The weekend victory capped off a solid week for the club in which they achieved two home victories and two clean sheets to move away from the relegation zone into 10th place.

Earlier in the week, David Unsworth led Everton to a 4-0 win over David Moyes’ struggling West Ham side in his final game in charge of the club, and his victory earned him the LMA Performance of the Week award.

Judging by the response on Twitter, the Everton supporters are full of admiration for Unsworth who was never shy to wear his heart on his sleeve during his brief stint as caretaker manager.

His passion for the club has certainly captured the hearts of the supporters, who have been keen to wish Unsworth all the best for the future.

Unsworth will now resume his responsibilities as Everton U23 manager for the foreseeable future.
