What a run of form this is! Marco Silva and his Everton players are working wonders right now and, therefore, all deserve immense credit for how they’ve turned their season around. Thank the high heavens for that, with the Portuguese looking worth the hassle at last.

The Toffees, only a matter of weeks ago, were coming to terms with the fact they would be without Europa League football again next season, only to win four of their last five games.

Now their aspirations of finishing seventh are coming to life and understandably, you fans must be delighted.

They will be the first bunch to admit they weren’t sure about Marco Silva initially but now he has turned it around, surely everyone can see why the owners waited so long just to bring him in as manager.

With that in mind, next season will arguably be his most important, as the right signings could see Everton really improve their fortunes.

One player they were previously linked (as per the Telegraph) with was Gelson Martins, who worked with Silva in the Portuguese capital at an earlier point in his career. Despite not getting him initially, the club should seriously consider moving for the Portuguese winger yet again this summer.

Martins, (who is valued at £25.2 million on Transfermarkt) has been productive during his short stay at Monaco so far, going onto provide three goals and an assist. The 23-year-old has been with a number of good teams throughout his career but a permanent move to Everton could be his most sensible move yet.

A young team looking to grow and bring goals to the team, he's surely a much more exciting option than the likes of Theo Walcott, potentially linking up with the likes of Bernard and Richarlison to create one of the most varied attacks in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

Everyone knows the striker problems in play at Everton, so attempting to bring goals from more areas of the pitch would be a much smarter option than going for another Cenk Tosun.

With the potential to become a regular fixture in their starting line-up, Gelson Martins could really kick-start his career in the best league of them all.
