Good news on the injury front emerges for Everton fans ahed of weekend clash

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have had a difficult season following their team’s adventures this season. The Toffees started the year in bad form after an expensive summer of transfer activity, before they changed Ronald Koeman for Sam Allardyce.

Things had started to steady for the Goodison Park outfit, however, the tide had turned against them and they went on a run where they could not get a victory. Despite the lack of wins, the Toffees still find themselves in the middle of the table and sit ten points clear of the relegation zone.

Everton prepares to face Stoke City at the weekend and supporters will have been boosted by the news that one of their star defenders is on the verge of being back in the first team.

Ramiro Funes Mori has been out of action for almost a season with a serious knee injury but has been working hard to get back on the field. Indeed, the Argentina international is now fit and is expected to be in Allardyce’s thoughts ahead of the clash with Stoke according to fitness expert Ben Dinnery on Twitter.

The defender has been playing for the developmental side in the Premier League 2 as he builds his fitness back and it seems he will be ready to return to first-team action.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The return of Funes Mori would be good news to those Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern. The defender has been a key man for the Toffees when he has been able to play and they have missed him dearly this season, with neither Michael Keane or Ashley Williams impressing in central defensive areas.
