The tide has turned for the Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern of late. Indeed, with a return to form and the appointment of Sam Allardyce as the club’s new boss, the Toffees in the Tavern are sweet on life again.
While Big Sam’s impact on Merseyside looks to have been a positive one, the best moment of the season so far actually came before his arrival. In David Unsworth’s last game in temporary charge of the club, they smashed West Ham at Goodison Park in a resounding 4-0 win, much to the delight of our resident Evertonians.
Wayne Rooney hit headlines during that game, bagging a sensational hat-trick, including one truly wonderful strike from inside his own half against the Hammers. Naturally, the goal has been nominated for the Premier League’s goal of the month, with Everton revealing that with a Twitter post.
