The Everton fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are optimistic about their future under Marco Silva, hoping he can be the man to make their European dreams come true again.

The Toffees are still happy with new manager Marco Silva despite not much transfer activity happening apart from the managerial appointment. Our punters are insistent on Everton spending between now and the end of the transfer window, specifically on creative midfielder Joao Mario, who is valued at £22.5 million on Transfermarkt.

Last season, the Portuguese midfielder spent 6 months playing on-loan for West Ham from Italian giants Inter Milan. This move didn't seem to work at first alike many other foreign players who come to the Premier League, the adaptation is too hard for them to do. However, in the last few matches of the season, Mario was one of West Ham's top performers in the middle of the park as well as on the wing.

The 25-year-old scored 2 goals and created one in his 13 Premier League appearances, something that could be improved if given another chance in England by Everton. Their huge summer spend last season didn't work out but recruiting the Portuguese international would be a positive move and one which could fill Goodison Park with hope again for the new season coming up.

With the ability to play anywhere in midfield, Marco Silva could utilise Joao Mario in whatever way he deems fit, knowing that he will be a solid performer for the team.
