Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting their pre-drink on ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside derby.
A win will move the Toffees to just three points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table and give them a real chance of qualifying for Europe this season.
But Everton haven’t beaten their local rivals since 2010, whilst their last win at Anfield – Saturday’s venue – was all the way back in 1999.
Nonetheless, Ronald Koeman’s side are in good form at the moment, winning six and losing just one of their last nine, and local lad Ross Barkley has been at the crux of the action, pulling the strings in midfield.
The England international, who was once again left on the bench by Gareth Southgate during last week’s international break, certainly looks up for the coming derby, posting a picture of himself training on Twitter.

And in turn, Everton fans have responded with messages to try and spur Barkley on ahead of a game that could well go on to define his and the Toffees’ season – whilst others questioned his fashion sense.
