The Everton fans in and about the Transfer Tavern are hoping to enjoy a much more successful season next campaign, with the addition of a quality manager as well as brilliant players to accompany him.
It wasn’t a good campaign at all as far as the Everton fans are concerned because despite finishing 8th in the Premier League. Indeed, the football was dull under Sam Allardyce and at one point they were close to the relegation zone. Those things simply can’t happen next season and instead of shelling out loads of money immediately, the Toffees must look at their loanee Henry Onyekuru, who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt.
Everton fans may have forgotten that last summer, they brought in the Nigerian and then immediately load him back out to Belgian side Anderlecht. Since then, the 20-year-old has performed well for his loan side, scoring 10 goals in 28 games. It was surprising that after so much fuss to bring him to Goodison Park, that the Toffees let him leave so easily on-loan. However, this summer is the ideal time to properly assess the Nigerian international and see whether he would be capable of playing for Everton in the near future.
After all, it’s not as if Everton are blessed with attacking options and certainly none have been as consistent as Henry Onyekuru has been out in Belgian. With the ability to play anywhere across the front-line, Onyekuru could be the player to reignite confidence around Goodison Park and be a part of a successful future the Toffees hope to endure.
