Everton haven’t been able to reach their full potential under Marco Silva in the current campaign, but the Portuguese boss does have a very strong squad at his disposal.
The Toffees will be desperate to build some momentum after a rather mixed start to proceedings, with a European spot still being the main aim. Although, there’re a couple of things that need to change in order for the Merseyside club to really push on to try and challenge for a European spot this season.
Indeed, Everton could definitely do with bringing in a number of players to freshen things up and strengthen in what will be a long, tiring Premier League campaign. So, Marco Silva should already have his eyes on potential additions, with the teams above them all picking up points regularly.
With that in mind, here’s a look at Everton’s potential new line-up after January…
EVERTON’S POTENTIAL POST-JANUARY LINE-UP
Jordan Pickford has been rather impressive in-between the sticks this season for the Toffees and has established himself as England’s first choice goalkeeper.
Lucas Digne has already shown his class since making the move to the Premier League during the summer, but Silva should think about strengthening on the opposite flank by bringing in impressive Brazilian full-back Wendell, who never fails to deliver for current club Bayer Leverkusen. Meanwhile, summer signing Yerry Mina should be able to enjoy a run in the side, with Kurt Zouma looking to kick on after an impressive start to life at Goodison Park.
Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye have formed a formidable partnership in the middle of midfield for Everton this season, which has helped them shut the door on the opposition by protecting the defence.
The Toffees’ attacking three will consist of Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott. All three players have been the main contributors for Everton in attacking areas this season, so there’s no need to seek any changes in the particular department after an emphatic start.
Lastly, Silva will have one eye on bringing in another striker due to Cenk Tosun’s inconsistencies in front of goal, with Liverpool’s Divock Origi possibly making the short trip to Goodison Park after being linked.
