Marco Silva will be sure to demand another war-chest to improve his Everton squad over the summer. While many of the problems Evertonians may have suffered over the course of the campaign may have been Silva's fault, few would doubt the fact that the Portuguese will want more to spend. That's just how it goes, right?

Indeed, his side have been extremely inconsistent this season and although they still have a chance, their dream of again being involved in the Europa League seems to be slipping away.

The competition for seventh place is arguably at an all-time high this season but the Toffees have failed to deliver consistently, something that will be concerning for those higher up at the club. Few would doubt the fact that Everton are still a big side in the Premier League but need a host of new summer arrivals if they're to challenge for the European places again.

With that in mind, a striker will surely be top of their priorities and someone who would make a brilliant signing is MLS superstar Josef Martinez.

Martinez, (who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt) recently signed a new five-year deal with Atlanta United but that shouldn't put Everton off in any attempt to sign him. Considering he was the MVP is the MLS last season, his striking ability shouldn't be doubted especially with the 35 goals he scored.

The Toffees, on the other hand, have struggled to find a regular goal-source within their ranks and could see Josef Martinez as a brilliant option going forward.

At the age of 25, Martinez is more than ready now to make a move into the Premier League, having been linked with a move to Goodison Park by El Dario via Sport Witness during the summer, with his attributes surely making him a good option in England.

He is lightning quick, has a great eye for goal as his record in America shows and offers something different to the options Everton currently possess. Maybe, just maybe, he could finally fill Romelu Lukaku's shoes on Merseyside.
