Key Everton figure confirms plans for potentially exciting transfer

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are really looking forward to seeing how their new look side does in the Premier League this season.

The Toffees have been one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as they look to build a side that is good enough to break into the top six.

In just over a week, then, we’re going to see how they get on but, in the meantime, Ronald Koeman has revealed that he still plans to sign another striker before the window is shut in an exciting sounding development.

Indeed, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo, when asked if he was looking for a new striker he said:

“Yes. We need two more front players because if you count the players and count the numbers, we lost somebody and we brought somebody in. We like more competition and that explanation is not so difficult.”

Everton fans, then, could be about to see one, if not two, arrive at the club and they will surely be tasked with competing with new signing Sandro Ramirez and young Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the right to be considered as Romelu Lukaku’s replacement up top.

Landlord’s Verdict

Everton have done some great business in the summer window and if they can add to their options up top it will have to be considered a real success.

The Blues need to make sure they have the firepower to replace Lukaku and if they can pull off some signings this month to aid that they could be sitting pretty.
