Key Everton man hints at move

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their concerns following comments from manager Ronald Koeman, who only took charge of the club last summer.

The Toffees have seen their form dramatically improve under the guidance of the former Southampton boss this season, and they’re braced for a return to the Europa League, although they face a battle to keep hold of key names.

Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley have both been linked with high-profile exits this summer and fans may have similar concerns about losing Koeman, who revealed to Spanish outlet Diario Sport he dreams of managing Barcelona.

“Everyone knows I’m a Barca man, they know my love for the club where I grew as a player and a person. And like everyone, I am an ambitious person — I think there are always things left to be done.”

“I am at Everton, which is also an important project. The club want to strengthen and want to play in the Champions League, but of course I have dreams as a person.”

“To one day be the manager of Barcelona… perfect. Another dream is to be the Holland manager. Both Barcelona and Holland, if there is a chance in the future — and the future can be very long — I would be delighted.”

Whilst Koeman’s comments don’t suggest an imminent move, Barcelona could be tempted to make an approach for the Everton boss this summer as they seek to find a replacement for Luis Enrique.

However, our landlord believes Koeman will remain at Goodison Park for now but he expects the Dutch boss to manager Barcelona after whoever takes Enrique’s seat.

How long will Koeman stay with Everton? Let us know in the comments below!
