The Everton fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking the club with a move for two new players this summer.
The Daily Express is reporting that new Everton manager Ronald Koeman is keen on bringing both Tim Krul and Axel Witsel to Goodison Park this summer.
The Toffees are in need of a new goalkeeper for next season following Tim Howard’s exit from the club this summer after a decade of stoic service, and the former Southampton coach reportedly feels that Krul is the ideal replacement.
The Dutch international was relegated with Newcastle United at the end of last season and is thought to be looking for a move straight back and it appears that the former Barcelona icon is ready to offer him the opportunity this summer.
As for Witsel, he has made it clear that he wants to leave Zenit St Petersburg this summer, and Koeman has him at the top of his list of targets to add the steel in midfield. Stoke City are also reportedly keen on the Belgian star.
Can Koeman take Everton to a Top 4 push next season?
