The Everton fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports the club are looking at another goalkeeper to bring in this summer.
According to reports from Spanish media outlet Deporte Valenciano, Ronald Koeman is interested in bringing Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves to Goodison Park this summer.
Should they see the transfer through it will be the club’s second addition between the posts, following the signing of Fulham goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg last week.
The club were in need of cover between the posts following the departure of Tim Howard at the end of the season and news that the club are looking at another keeper will heap pressure on Joel Robles who appeared on 24 occasions for the Merseyside team last season.
Alves, who missed a majority of the last La Liga campaign through a cruciate ligament injury which saw him restricted to just 13 starts last season has appeared in over 140 games for the Mestalla side since arriving from Almeira.
Can Koeman lead Everton into the Top Four this season?
