Koeman determined to scupper £30m Chelsea deal in massive Everton rebuild

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have seen their pints glasses go from half-empty to half-full in a matter of months, with the club welcoming new investment and Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.

Furhter good news has come to the punters in today, with The Toffees reportedly looking to snatch Antonio Conte’s ‘No1 defensive target’ Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according the The Liverpool Echo.

Chelsea have already made it clear that they are willing to offer in excess of £30m for the Napoli defender ,however the runners up in Serie A last season have indicated that they want €50m.

Either way, Koeman’s side may struggle to persuade the 25-year old away from his potential move to Stamford Bridge as a lot of progress has been made on that front.

Considering their squad, an 11th place finish wasn’t ideal for the Merseyside club last season, so they will be looking to bolster their squad under the lavish new ownership of Farhad Moshiri.

The Senegalese could prove to be one of this summer’s top signings and a key part of Everton’s squad going into the 2016/17 season.

The 6ft 5 centre back has made 60 appearances for Napoli in two seasons at the club and it seems to be a matter of who Koulibaly moves to not if he moves at all, the Merseyside club may have to offer a very lucrative deal to tempt him over to Goodison Park.
