The Everton fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club are eyeing a move for a new defensive addition this summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, incoming Toffees chief Ronald Koeman has earmarked a move for Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann should he take the reigns at Goodison Park.
The 29-year old is thought to be among a list of potential replacements for John Stones should the England international leave Merseyside this summer.
Dann has impressed during his time at Selhurst Park, putting successive relegations with Birmingham and Blackburn Rovers behind him, and it is thought that a fee of around £15m could force the Eagles into a sale.
Alan Pardew will be reluctant to lose one of his lieutenants of course, though a wealthy new backer at Goodison Park could afford Koeman big funds upon his arrival from Southampton.
Is Scott Dann really worth £15m?
