Koeman set to make last ditch move for midfielder amid tricky transfer situation

According to The Liverpool Echo, Everton boss Ronald Koeman will look to sign Thomas Delaney in January, despite him having already joined Werder Bremen in the summer.

It’s a bit of a confusing piece of news for our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern, who are concerned that the club should have been more prepared and have gone for the FC Copenhagen man whilst he was more available.

He has been at the Danish club on loan this season since signing for the Bundesliga side and so it would now seem Koeman would have to do some serious bargaining to sign him, before he’s even played significantly for his new parent club.

The Dutch manager reportedly sent Erwin Koeman to watch him in Champions League action earlier last week and so now a late bid could seriously be launched when the window opens in just over a month’s time.

Koeman signed the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Idrissa Gueye in the summer market but the Toffees have been struggling in recent times with another loss coming against Southampton at the weekend.

They are still currently 7th in the league thanks to their good early season form but they will want to arrest their slide at the moment before things start getting dangerous.

Would you still take Delaney Everton fans? Let us know below!
