Once Everton secure deals for a left-back and centre-back, the club could move on to signing a forward player. And as reported by the Watford Observer, Richarlison is one possible name that the Toffees are considering.
Everton’s focus in the transfer market right now appears to be finding a left-back and central defender. Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and Barcelona’s Yerry Mina are just two names that have come up for each position respectively.
Signing either of those players, however, will not be easy. But as soon as Everton wrap up deals for the positions above, other areas of the squad will likely be addressed.
Watford’s Richarlison, who is valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, could be a target to strengthen Everton’s attack having worked under the Toffees new boss Marco Silva when he was still in the Vicarage Road dugout.
Considering the bad blood between Everton and Watford after the former’s approach for Silva midway through last season, it is hard to see Richarlison switching sides as things stand.
But if Everton were able to pull off the signing, Richarlison’s acquisition would be a great one.
Despite having a serious dip in form as Watford’s campaign went on, Richarlison was one of the standout players in the opening period of last season’s Premier League.
The Brazilian was a real threat in the final third as he dribbled past defenders, created chances and scored goals. If reunited with Silva, there is no reason why he could not deliver such performances again.
Richarlison would give Everton’s frontline a massive boost and should be pursued at all costs.
