Major Everton decision to be made this summer, could split fans

It’s been a mixed bag of a season for the Toffees in the Tavern, though the Everton supporters propping up our bar are confident of progressing next term.

Still getting to grips with their new era, the Goodison Park faithful believe Ronald Koeman is exactly the right man to help the club challenge the top four.

Still, reports from the Guardian have proved somewhat concerning to the fans frequenting our four walls. They claim the club’s standoff with star midfielder Ross Barkley has no immediate resolution.

Out of contract at the end of next season, the England international has reportedly given no indication as to what his future will hold, despite the fact the club do not wish to see him enter the final 12 months of his deal.

According to the report, Barkley is likely to see what options he has over the course of the summer and has proved to be a largely divisive figure in the Tavern this season.

Clearly a wonderful talent, the notion of banking big money for a player blighted by such inconsistency is a tempting one for some our resident Evertonians.
