Everton enjoyed an extremely busy end to the summer transfer window with many new arrivals on deadline day.

Marcel Brands and Marco Silva worked incredibly hard to address the squad’s weaknesses before the deadline slammed shut on Thursday afternoon. Three new faces arrived at Goodison Park with Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes both joining the Blues from Barcelona as well as Bernard completing a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk. Everton could also secured a late loan deal for Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma, giving them strength in depth everywhere.

Following a slow start to the window, Everton fans will be delighted with their business and will expect a much better performance than last year. The Blues have finally addressed key issues in their squad that should see them challenge for Europe. With a new style of play under Silva, the Toffees could eventually crack the Premier League top four.

Mina is joined at Goodison Park by Lucas Digne who completed a move from Barcelona back in July. Digne provides Silva with a quality option at left-back with Baines approaching the end of his career. Mina finally provides Michael Keane with a top-class partner in defence and will also offer the Blues a huge threat from set-pieces.

Everton have also significantly strengthened their attack by adding Richarlison and Bernard to their forward line. Both players are young, hungry and will add another dimension to the Toffees front line. Their arrival will no doubt improve the fortunes of Cenk Tosun who enjoyed a solid start to life in England after joining the club in January.

Silva also managed to offload some fringe players with Davy Klassen, Ashley Williams, Kevin Mirallas, Ramiro Funes Mori and Wayne Rooney leaving the club this summer. Their departures will free up some valuable cash and allow the Portuguese to focus on the players that could fire Everton to Europe next year.

If their new arrivals can settle in quickly, Champions League football is not out of reach for the Toffees.

Everton fans, are you happy with your summer transfer business?
