Wow! Wow! Wow! No one would have predicted that Everton would thump Manchester United 4-0 would they?! Marco Silva has shown everyone just how hard he and his players are working to ensure that next season is a much better watch than this year has been.
Indeed, last weekend was a pleasant surprise for Evertonians, but with an away trip to Palace later today, Silva will be well aware of just how inconsistent his side can be. Before the 4-0 romping of United, Everton lost 0-2 to an already relegated Fulham, proving that it really would be no surprise to see Everton get beat later today.
To ensure that this level of performance can continue into the last couple of games, we feel these are the changes that Silva should look to make.
After giving everything in the last few weeks, it may be time for the 26-year-old to take a rest on the bench for the start of the game later today. Having been one of the quieter players last weekend against United, it is clear that the build up of games has begun to take its toll on the playmaker.
There is no doubt, however, should Silva need to bring Bernard on during the game, the Brazilian will not hesitate to showcase his skill and torment the Palace defence.
Start Ademola Lookman
Surely it’s time to give the attacking winger a chance in the starting line up? Having provided decent cameo performances for the majority of the season there is plenty of evidence to prove that the 21-year-old would be more than capable of handling the challenges of facing a stubborn Palace defence.
Lookman’s pace compared to Bernard’s may be pivotal in neutralizing the frightening pace of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, something that may just be the key to beating Palace later today.
