Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for the season to an end following a dreadful 2017/18 with many of our punters calling for the head of Sam Allardyce.
The former England boss took the reins at Goodison Park following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman and has lifted Everton up the table. However, many fans have become disillusioned with life under Allardyce, and the ex-West Ham boss has been the subject of fan protests that are set to continue. He maintains he will be in charge next campaign.
Despite signing a two-year deal, it’s hard to see a future for Allardyce at the club if the protests continue. Farhad Moshiri will be left with no choice but to replace him. Regardless of who is in charge, summer signings are a must if Everton are to rechallenge the top four.
The Toffees must strengthen the left side of their attack with Kevin Mirallas out on loan and Yannick Bolasie struggling to impress after returning from injury. With Stoke City having suffered relegation, Everton should look to land one of their best players – Xherdan Shaqiri.
Shaqiri is valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt and is far too good to be playing at Championship level. The former Bayern Munich man has been one of the few shining lights in a miserable season for the Potters. He has bagged seven goals and notched six assists.
With bags of pace, trickery and an eye for goal, Shaqiri would be a massive asset for the Blues. Still only 26-years-old, the Swiss international has his best years ahead of him.
Everton fans, would Xherdan Shaqiri be a good fit at Goodison Park? Let us know!
