Much-needed boost for Everton as good injury news emerges

Everton fans here in the Tavern are eager for their side to switch their focus to defending, after conceding 11 goals in their last four games.

Sam Allardyce has redefined Everton’s season since taking over at Goodison Park, as transfer window business and a climb away from the relegation zone has built for a promising future. Indeed, with our local residents here in the Tavern hoping to see their side bring success back to Merseyside, a fully strengthened Everton side could be a daunting task to overcome for fellow Premier League competitors.

Indeed, the Toffees transfer window movement was hugely down to finding reinforcements with injuries taking their toll, as Ramiro Funes Mori is a notable absentee that’s been a huge miss for Everton so far this season after spending the last 1o-months out as a result of a knee injury. But, Fitness Expert Ben Dinnery revealed some promising news for Everton fans on Twitter.

Dinnery stated that Funes Mori returned to action for Everton’s Under-23 side where he managed 45 minutes of action.

Great news for Sam Allardyce after seeing his side leak goals left, right and centre in recent times, as the Argentine closing in on a return to action will provide healthy back-up solutions in a current defensive crisis. After being one of their star players last time out in the Premier League under Ronald Koeman, the 26-year-old will be keen to get back to help a club that’s welcomed him with open arms since making the move.

Indeed, it’s the type of news that could quite easily shape the remainder of Everton’s season, with the highly-rated Funes Mori bringing back fight, determination and solidity to a defence that’s been flat footed in weeks gone by.

Landlord’s Verdict:

A huge boost for Everton to welcome back a player that was vital to their progression under Koeman last season, and in their current situation it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Toffees. Although, with him only managing 45 minutes so far for the Under-23 side, it still could be a while until fans are able to lay eyes on the Argentine once again.
