Everton have not lived up to their own expectations this season and that surely leaves manager Marco Silva wondering whether he will still have a job there in the summer.
Despite playing good football and picking up points during some parts of this season, Everton have slipped drastically in recent weeks, falling to 9th position with just one win in their last five games.
Goals have dried up, their defence is unreliable and it remains to be seen as to what will happen with Marco Silva and whether he still has a future at Goodison Park.
It’s going to take a big shift in performances for the Portuguese boss to be entrusted with a summer budget again but a deal that wouldn’t cost him a penny is bringing back Nikola Vlasic.
Vlasic, (who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt) is currently out on-loan with Russian giants CSKA Moscow but considering how good he has been for them, it could mean a chance at a comeback into the Everton side this summer.
The 21-year-old has really knuckled down and performed to the best of his ability, scoring seven times and assists a further four goals in his 20 appearances this season.
Vlasic, since his loan move, has also adopted a new role in the team – playing as an attacking midfielder – rather than further forward as a striker.
Whilst being able to play out on the wing as well, Everton could find a number of uses for the Croatian within their starting line-up and he could perform a lot better than those fans witnessed of him early last season.
Having had time to improve, Nikola Vlasic could make a sensational return back into the Everton starting line-up, already giving them a better chance next season.
