While the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have had an awful lot to be excited about over the summer, many of them have been thinking about Seamus Coleman.
Indeed, the Republic of Ireland international is a hugely popular figure amongst the Toffees in our Tavern and his horrific leg break suffered back in March was felt by all of our drinkers.
So important to the way in which Everton set-up, the Irishman’s absence is a notable one at Goodison Park, so photos posted on the club’s official website have gone down a storm today.
As revealed by EvertonFC.com, the 28-year-old has returned to doing ball work in training at Finch Farm as he steps up his return from his horror break. It’s the first time he’s been spotted doing so and, while there’s a long road ahead, it’s promising to see him back out on the field.
Now, the Everton fans in the bar are eager to see him continue on this positive track.
A fully fit Coleman would give Everton another outlet, something they’ve been lacking this season. Many of Ronald Koeman’s attackers are similar, so the Toffees tend to play a lot of the game in front of the opposition, so Coleman’s direct running on the right would be a wonderful foil.
Obviously, we can’t expect to see him back anytime soon, though it’s promising to see.
