Everton need to delve into the transfer market if they want to sustain consistency and target a spot in Europe for next season.
It’s a tough battle between a number of teams this season, all who are determined to reach that 7th spot – the position regarded as “the best of the rest”.
Everton will certainly believe that title belongs to them but at times this season they have struggled to prove that statement.
Marco Silva must look to make improvements to his Everton side and could do that well by re-signing popular midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini, (who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt) enjoyed a successful five year stay at Goodison Park under former manager David Moyes.
His ability to affect things at both ends of the pitch is an important attribute that the midfielder carries and would be very helpful for Marco Silva.
With reports (as per the Daily Mail) suggesting that Idrissa Gueye maybe leaving the club, Everton would lack physicality in midfield, something Marouane Fellaini has in abundance. Not only his height, power and general quality on the ball, but Fellaini also has time and time again proven to be a brilliant asset to cause a devastating effect in the box.
Even though he is 31-years-old, Fellaini still has time to make a positive return to Goodison Park, returning to his very best footballing days.
Despite making 21 appearances this season, only nine of those games did Marouane Fellaini actually start in.
His impact off the bench when the opposition is tiring has proven to be a very useful tricky but he isn’t getting any younger and still wants to play regularly, which he could get more opportunities to do at his former club Everton.
