Richarlison’s battle with Callum Wilson could light up Everton vs Bournemouth clash

Everton and Bournemouth head into Sunday’s encounter at Goodison Park on the exact same points, with Marco Silva’s men holding a slightly better goal difference.

Both teams have had a very similar Premier League campaign so far and the encounter is the perfect occasion to see which team has the best striker.

The Toffees’ Richarlison and the Cherries’ Callum Wilson have also enjoyed pretty much the same success in front of goal with both players finding the back of the net nine times since the start of the season, while Wilson has played one match more than the Brazilian.

Nonetheless, Richarlison and Wilson have been the key figures to both teams’ dire fight for a possible spot in the Europa League.

But both players have struggled in recent matches as Everton and Bournemouth tumbled down the league table on the back of some poor results.

Silva’s men have managed only one win in their last eight league matches, while Eddie Howe’s charges recorded a single victory in their previous seven matches.

This could make for an interesting match-up come Sunday as both camps would be eager to get their campaigns back on track.

It could therefore present an opportunity to the likes of Richarlison and Wilson to steal the show at Goodison Park.

Both players have been lethal in front of goal this season and have shown great composure, despite their teammates perhaps not bringing the same level of intensity to matches.

If Silva manages to field the best possible wingers to help Richarlison on the day, then the 21-year-old could have a lively afternoon. He would also need Gylfi Sigurdsson to be back at his best to provide him with clever passes to run onto.

Wilson on the other hand would be hoping Ryan Fraser can continue his perfect assist form but, more importantly, will require the Bournemouth midfield to be tight in defence in order for the likes of David Brooks and Joshua King to move forward with their pace.
