Everton have had a poor pre-season, and Silva will be hoping for more additions before the season begins.

It has been a worrying pre-season for the Toffees, recently losing 4-1 to French side Rennes. Silva will be nervously awaiting new players to enter the club as the season draws closer.

Everton have signed Brazilian forward Richarlison for £35m, which could rise to £50m with add-ons. He had a good first half of the season for Watford, but his form was patchy in the second half of the campaign. This signing has shown some real ambition from the Goodison Park outfit in terms of the outlay on the player, but Marco Silva will know the club need more imports to achieve his ambitions.

After a shaky start last season, Everton recovered to finish 8th. To break into the top bracket of Premier League clubs, real investment in quality players is needed. With the amount of money spent by the clubs at the top, it is becoming increasingly hard to compete with them at the very top of the table.

With that in mind, here are two players Marco Silva will be fuming Everton haven't signed...

The Crystal Palace talisman would have done wonders in this Everton side.

The Ivorian winger has added goals to his creative side, and has established himself as one of the best wingers in the Premier League. Strength, power, pace and trickery, Zaha came on leaps and bounds last season and looks like he is ready for a move.

Wilfried Zaha is rated at £27m by Transfermarkt. However, given his importance to the Eagles the South London outfit would likely demand a much higher fee for his services.

Marco Silva will be bitterly disappointed Everton have not brought in the player from Selhurst Park.

Marco Silva will surely be disappointed the club missed out on Elyounoussi, after Southampton signed the player for £16m.

Mohamed Elyounoussi had been one of the best players in the Swiss Super League for the past two seasons. The former Basel winger would have fit straight in at Goodison Park, and is a creative talent they were missing last season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson wasn't quite the player the Merseyside club hoped he would be after spending big money on the player before the beginning of last season from Swansea City.

Marco Silva will be perplexed why it wasn't Everton spending £16m to bring the player in.
