Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are very excited over what the remainder of the season could hold and, as quoted by Everton TV, Ronald Koeman has offered good news to help that feeling.
The Toffees are easily the favourites for that seventh place spot in the Premier League at the moment with them assembling a very decent looking squad at the moment.
That’s been helped by the emergence of some top young talents, too, but it’s three senior stars returning to fitness that Koeman’s latest upbeat news concerned.
“We know that for 10 days Rom has had some problems with his calf. He has a lot of confidence in the Belgian doctor and I gave him permission to go to Belgium and recover.
“We expect him, normally, next Tuesday to be joining in the training session. He will be fit and available for the weekend.”
Meanwhile on Mirallas and McCarthy, Koeman said:
“They are progressing well. We knew that they would not play in the friendly this Friday but next week, from Tuesday on, they will be available for all the training sessions.
“Normally they would be fit for the weekend of Sunderland.”
The majority of the Toffees’ squad is out in Dubai at the moment for a warm-weather training camp as the club look to recharge their batteries and gear up for the run-in.
They play perennial strugglers Sunderland next weekend when league duties return to the agenda and, all being well, Koeman should be able to call upon the three players as he so wishes for that one.
