Ronald Koeman reportedly eyeing 27-year-old international to boost Everton progress

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern have really enjoyed their first season under Ronald Koeman with things definitely looking on the right track under the Dutchman.

The Toffees were in a bit of a dire way towards the end of Roberto Martinez’s tenure at the club but former Southampton boss Koeman has worked well to turn that around quickly.

Indeed, they now look by far the best placed side to get involved with the top six battle and our landlord thinks that with the right signings in the summer they’ll be able to kick on even more.

Certainly, many expect the Toffees to be busy in the market and, according to The Times, the men from Goodison Park are looking into bringing in Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea.

The Icelandic international is easily one of the best players in the lower half of the division and would easily, you feel, make the step up to one of the top clubs in the league.

Certainly, he’d have an impact at Everton and so it remains to be seen if Koeman really pushes for this one.
