Everton drinkers in the Transfer Tavern are growing rather frustrated with the Romelu Lukaku situation at Goodison Park.
The Belgium international is currently top of the Premier League’s scoring charts with 21 goals in 28 appearances, but has seemingly turned down the chance to sign a new contract with the Merseysiders – putting his future in serious doubt.
And according to The Sun, Everton could look to replace their star centre-forward by spending the modest sum of just £2million, with the Toffees eyeing up MLS sensation Cyle Larin.
The 21-year-old signed for Orlando City in January 2015 and has since gone on to bag an impressive 34 goals in 61 MLS appearances – including a return of three in two since the start of the 2017 season.
Larin is hardly a household name in England but he’s been tipped to make the move to European football for some time, with Celtic, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon mooted as his previous suitors by the British tabloid.
However, Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are rather divided by the news. Whilst some like the idea of their club picking up a potential £2million bargain, others think Ronald Koeman needs a ready-made, star-studded replacement for Lukaku if the Toffees are to continue progressing towards regular top four contention.
