Splash out on Tierney, Klassen waves goodbye: Everton’s perfect July

Everton fans here in the Tavern are expecting a successful season next time out with Marco Silva now in charge. The Portuguese boss didn’t enjoy the best of times at Vicarage Road, but he will be desperate to hit the ground running at Goodison Park.

The Toffees struggled to ensure consistency and failed to compete with the big guns last season as they had to rely on a strong second half of the season to reach a respectable position.

Indeed, the month of July could prove crucial when it comes down to challenging for a European spot next season, as Silva will need to incorporate any new signings into his pre-season regime as soon as possible.

Although, many of our local residents aren’t too bothered about that as they’re anticipating a couple of huge signings this month.

Without further ado, here’s TWO moves that would send supporters into an absolute frenzy…

Splash cash on Tierney

Everton are reportedly preparing to launch a £25 million bid for Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney, who has established himself as one of the most promising defenders in the whole of world football.

Of course, with Leighton Baines coming towards the end of his career, a move for the promising Tierney would provide the Toffees with a major upgrade.

Many of our local residents believe that securing the Scottish international could go down as one of the best pieces of business that the club has ever completed, which would make July a month to remember.

Dump Klaassen

Davy Klaassen was one of the worst transfer decisions that Everton have ever made as he failed to have any real impact on proceedings and looked miles off the pace in the Premier League.

Much to the delight of many of our local residents, it’s thought that Everton are trying to offload the midfielder by involving him in a deal for Croatian defender Domagoj Vida.

July could turn out to be an incredible month if the Toffees manage to get rid of one of their transfer flops and secure a World Cup star in return.
