Wayne Rooney’s late penalty absolutely delighted the Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern, who were happy to see Sam Allardyce’s side return from Anfield with a valuable point indeed.
The Toffees in our Tavern have been impressed with how their season has picked up so quickly after such a poor start and, now, reports in the Sun have only furthered the sense of excitement amongst our local Evertonians. Indeed, they claim Big Sam has big plans for two promising young players at Goodison Park.
Both Jonjoe Kenny and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are reportedly in line for new deals after impressing in the first-team this season, much to the delight of our punters. The former is understood to be finalising talks over a new contract following his breakthrough this season and is thought to be heavily involved in Allardyce’s future plans.
The latter, meanwhile, has had to bear the burden of replacing Romelu Lukaku, performing well in recent weeks. The 20-year-old has bagged five goals in all competitions this season – after helping England win the U20 World Cup in the summer – and the club are said to want to reward him for his hard work.
After a good time of things recently, this news has gone down very well today.
It’s promising to see Everton continuing to develop talent. After the mess that was the summer window and then replacement of Ronald Koeman, to see the Merseyside outfit making moves from within is certainly a pleasing one for supporters.
Both players have big futures and Everton securing their long-term futures is a good move.
