Everton will need Theo Walcott and Bernard to be at their very best if they were to stand any chance of picking up points in the Merseyside Derby on Sunday.

Playing at Anfield has not been an easy task for the Toffees over the years and the current home record of Liverpool will certainly not make it any easier for Marco Silva and his team.

But the manager might have a better chance of doing something special than any of his predecessors. This Everton team have been growing in form and stature and Silva seems to have found the perfect combinations all around the pitch.

Apart from Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye, who have slotted in nicely next to each other in the midfield, have Walcott and Bernard also shown they are capable of posing proper threats to opposition defenders, especially with the lethal Richarlison up-front.

Silva's decision to move the Brazilian to a striker, to accommodate his compatriot Bernard, has been reaping rewards since the manager first adopted this style against Leicester City at the beginning of October. This has given Gylfi Sigurdsson the space to control the midfield going forward with Walcott to his right and then Bernard to his left.

Despite being a bit off the pace in Saturday's win over Cardiff City, Silva will need to place his trust and confidence in the two wingers to take on Liverpool and make clever runs. Walcott especially, will need to be more composed on the ball to keep his controlling under watch.

His touches have left him down in the past and did he have a good chance to score the goal against Cardiff, but appeared to stumble slightly before having a weak shot at goal.

Bernard, on the other hand, will need to pick out Richarlison with more direct linkup play between the two and should the 26-year-old not be as static as he was over the weekend.
