To say Everton have found it difficult to replace Romelu Lukaku would be an understatement.
Since the Belgian forward’s departure to Manchester United back in 2017, the Merseyside club have brought in a bunch of different strikers to fill the void and some for big money, with Cenk Tosun just one name to come to mind. However, things simply have not worked out, with the Turkey international managing just the 10 goals for the club following his 2018 move from Besiktas.
In Dominic Calvert-Lewin, though, Everton may have finally found the solution to their long-standing problem. This season, the 22-year-old has looked like a proper goalscorer, making it little surprise that his market valuation on Transfermarkt has gone from £19.8m (December 2019) to £27m.
In 27 Premier League appearances, the English youngster has scored 13 goals, with four of those coming against Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. It is not just his finishing that has been impressive, though, with his overall centre-forward play also worthy of a mention.
How much is Dominic Calvert-Lewin worth?
£25m or more
Less than £25m
For example, Calvert-Lewin has been extremely strong in the air this term. Winning just under five aerial duels per league game, no Everton player has performed better than the former Sheffield United man in that area (via WhoScored).
Keep all of that up, and you would expect his market valuation to continue to increase as time progresses.
