Following the dismal loss at home to Wolves at the weekend, Marco Silva is a manager under tremendous pressure.
Indeed, it almost felt as if the black cat at Goodison Park signalled the end of his tenure. Silva has admitted himself (as per the Mirror) to being under the hammer due to Everton’s poor form.
A sacking is surely imminent if things don’t improve, considering all the money spent in recent seasons as the Toffees look to improve.
So, who doe Everton look to replace Silva with? Let’s take a look.
The former Huddersfield town manager might’ve left the club in a sour note, but his managerial ability cannot be undermined. Wagner did a commendable job with a very limited Huddersfield side, causing upsets every now and then. At a formidable side like Everton, he can do wonders. The German gaffer’s crisp attacking style can benefit Everton.
He can get the best out of Everton’s rich attacking line and stabilize their defensive state, as Wagner could bring back the magic at Goodison Park and help the Toffees finish the season strongly.
Arteta may be itching for a raise in the managerial ladder and doesn’t look content playing second-fiddle at Manchester City. He fits Everton’s system really well and has the players who could play a watered-down version of Total Football. Indeed, the Spaniard can make Everton play some beautiful, decisive attacking football and help them operate in their full potential.
Being a former player too, he could have the kind of emotional connection needed to get the fans back on side.
Richarlison, Bernard, Gylfi Siggurdson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott can all benefit from the exciting system he’ll bring and Arteta can make Everton dominate games at Goodison once again.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
