Marco Silva will be plotting to improve on Everton’s 8th placed finish last season this term.
Everton made numerous signings before the beginning of last season, but many just seemed to not quite make the cut at Goodison Park. Players like Davy Klaassen and Gyfi Sigurdsson simply did not achieve what was expected of them given their big money transfers. The lack of return on the investment saw Ronald Koeman shown the exit door. Even in January, the Blues spent big, bringing in the likes of Theo Walcott for £2o.25m.
Marco Silva will want his side to push on this season, given the level of talent he has at his disposal. He will be aiming to get the most out of his players who underperformed last season.
He has also added Watford’s attacker Richarlison, for a fee of £35m, which could rise to £50m with add-ons.
There are some players however, who have just not worked out for the Toffees, and need to be moved on.
