It was revealed recently by The Times that Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck will not be rewarded a new contract, and will, therefore, leave the club at the end of the season, which should be of big interest to Everton.

Subsequently, a lot of clubs are now going to pursue the England striker, who, when fit, is one of the best forwards in the country. However, his slightly injury prone nature has probably led to The Gunners choosing to abandon him.

We have already discussed that Crystal Palace would be a great destination for the 28-year-old, but there is another club to rival them and that is Everton.

The Toffees are currently lacking an out-and-out striker, as January signing Cenk Tosun is failing to adjust to life in the Premier League. As a consequence, summer signing Richarlison has been deployed as a striker by manager Marco Silva, but the Portuguese would surely want a recognised striker at the club.

Everton is also a club that can promise Welbeck regular game time, whilst still being in the upper echelons of the league. While they may just be below Man United and Arsenal, they are still a club that are aiming for the Europa League, and are knocking on the door of the top five.

Alongside Richarlison, who has been one of the players of the season so far, Welbeck could forge one of the best attacking partnerships in the league. Both are capable of playing as strikers and wingers, and it is this versatility that would surely make them a lethal combination and could well make Everton contenders for the top four.
