Signing a new forward should be at the top of Marco Silva’s to-do-list in the January transfer window.
The Portuguese has made a decent start to life with the Toffees and enjoyed plenty of success during his first transfer window at the club. Alongside new director of football, Marcel Brands, Silva signed a number of players who have hit the ground running at Goodison Park. Richarlison, Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes have all impressed fans and pundits alike since joining the Merseyside club in the summer window.
Silva should be aiming to continue his excellent work in the market so far in January. Top of his priority list should be a new forward. Cenk Tosun has struggled massively since joining from Besiktas and is simply not the regular goal scorer that the Blues require. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin still developing, Everton should be on the hunt for a top forward.
One man they should try to lure to England is Sevilla hitman – Wissam Ben Yedder. Valued at £31.5m by Transfermarkt, the Frenchman joined his current employers back in 2016 for just £8m following six goal-laden seasons with Toulouse in Ligue 1. His performances in La Liga have made his price tag look like an absolute steal.
Ben Yedder ended the season with 22 goals in all competitions, and his fine form has continued into the new campaign. The 28-year-old has developed into one of the world’s best finishers, finding the back of the net 13 times already this season. Not only does Ben Yedder score for fun, but he is also the creative hub of his side, bringing his team-mates into the game – registering an impressive seven assists in all competitions.
Confident on either foot, the former France international has all the attributes to be a massive success in the Premier League. It would take a massive fee to lure him from Spain – he would definitely be worth the money.
